Media captionThe Duke and Duchess of Cambridge emerge from St Mary’s in London with their newborn prince.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have left hospital after the arrival of their third child, a boy.

The couple’s second son, who was born at 11:01 BST, weighing 8lb 7oz, is fifth in line to the throne.

Prince George and Princess Charlotte had visited their brother at the Lindo Wing of St Mary’s Hospital, London.

Leaving the hospital Prince William said the couple were very happy, before holding up three fingers and joking he had “thrice the worry now”.

“We didn’t keep you waiting too long this time,” he added.

When someone asked him whether the couple had decided on a name, he said: “You’ll find out soon enough.”

Formal notice

Minutes earlier, Prince William and Catherine had come out of the hospital briefly to greet the crowds with their new son.

They then returned inside to put their newborn son in his car seat before driving away towards their home Kensington Palace.

The duchess wore a red Jenny Packham dress with a white collar as she left the hospital.

Fashion commentators said that its colours reflected St George’s flag, while others saw echoes of Princess Diana, who wore red and white when she left hospital with a newborn Prince Harry in 1984.

Members of both families have said they are “delighted with the news” of the birth.

Kensington Palace said the name of the baby would be announced in due course while a formal notice of the birth had been posted on the forecourt of Buckingham Palace.

Favourite names at the bookmakers include Arthur, Albert, Frederick, James and Philip.

Prime Minister Theresa May tweeted her “warmest congratulations” to William and Catherine.

She said: “I wish them great happiness for the future.”

Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn also sent his regards, tweeting: “Congratulations to Kate and William on the birth of their baby boy. I wish them all the very best.”

The Archbishop of Canterbury added: “Congratulations to The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge on the safe delivery of their baby, a brother for Prince George and Princess Charlotte.

“May God bless them and all of their children with love, happiness and health.”

A sense of renewal

By Jonny Dymond, BBC royal correspondent

After some quieter times, the Royal Family is back in the news – and there is a noticeable sense of renewal; new faces, with Meghan Markle, Prince Harry’s fiancee, making her first public appearances, and now another child, the as-yet unnamed third child of Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

It’s always gone like this – waves of interest followed by periods of relative quiet. But there has been a sense of renewal in the past few months.

Of course there has been concern over the health of the Duke of Edinburgh; and interest in the Queen, with her decades of service, never falters.

But the attention of a new group, both in Britain and around the world, has been caught by this birth and then the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle next month.

From the darkest days of the World War Two to the Instagram generation, the Royal Family now connects them all.

Following a change in the law in 2013, Princess Charlotte keeps her place as fourth in line to the throne.

Previously, younger royal males would have taken precedence over older female siblings.

The duchess was admitted to hospital shortly before 06:00 on Monday with the announcement of the birth coming shortly after 13:00.

Senior royal doctors consultant obstetrician Guy Thorpe-Beeston and consultant gynaecologist Alan Farthing oversaw the birth.

Both were also called in for the arrival of Prince George in 2013 and Princess Charlotte in 2015.

The new prince, born on St George’s Day, shares a birthday with Lady Gabriella Windsor – the daughter of Prince and Princess Michael of Kent, who was born at the Lindo Wing on 23 April 1981.

Will the new prince be king?

To become King or Queen as the third-born royal child is rare – and has yet to happen within the current House of Windsor.

But the third child of George III and Queen Charlotte, William IV, took on the task and ruled from 1830 to 1837.

The Hanoverian king acceded to the throne aged 64 when his older brother, George IV, died without an heir.

He became next in line when he was 62 and his other older brother, Frederick, Duke of York, died.

UK Goes 55 Hours Without Coal For The First Time Everhttps://viralnews3.pw/uk-goes-55-hours-without-coal-for-the-first-time-ever/https://viralnews3.pw/uk-goes-55-hours-without-coal-for-the-first-time-ever/#respondTue, 24 Apr 2018 23:05:40 +0000https://viralnews3.pw/?p=2052

It appears the UK is breaking up with coal for the first time in its 140-year love affair. The nation made its relationship status official earlier this week after producing a record 55 hours of electricity without burning any coal.

Data compiled by Bloomberg shows the record was set in London between the hours of 10.25pm on Monday and 5.10am on Thursday, beating the previous 40-hour coal-free record set last October.

It’s part of the government’s plan to switch off all coal plants by 2025 (unless they are fitted with carbon capture technology) and reduce carbon and greenhouse gas emissions by 80 percent of 1990 levels over the next three decades.

A decade ago, the UK Parliament enacted the Climate Change Act that committed to reducing the nation’s carbon footprint. As a result, the Committee on Climate Change (CCC) was created to ensure targets are “evidence-based and independently assessed”. Their efforts seem to have been working.

In 2017, greenhouse gas emissions fell by 3 percent as coal use dropped and renewable investments continued to climb. With more offshore wind turbines installed than any other country in Europe and the increasing capacity of the field of solar panels to meet more and more of Britain’s demand for power, last month the two produced more electricity than nuclear for the first time in UK history.

An analysis by Carbon Brief shows the UK’s CO2 emissions fell by 5.8 percent in 2016 following a record 52 percent reduction in coal use. Figures from the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy analyzed by the Climate Action Program show that coal now only accounts for 5.3 percent of primary energy consumption in the UK, down from 22 percent in 1995.

While the British government has divested resources from coal endeavors, President Trump has made it a mission to reinvest in the industry. Early last year, he repealed the Obama-era Stream Protection Rule that restricted coal companies from dumping waste in streams. It seems like the rest of the world is ready to move on regardless. A coalition of more than two dozen countries – known collectively as COP23 – has joined together in a mission to phase out the use of coal and instead invest in clean power due to the negative health effects of air pollution from burning coal, like respiratory diseases and premature death.

A Parkland student brought tampons to school in a clear backpack. The pic went viral.https://viralnews3.pw/a-parkland-student-brought-tampons-to-school-in-a-clear-backpack-the-pic-went-viral/https://viralnews3.pw/a-parkland-student-brought-tampons-to-school-in-a-clear-backpack-the-pic-went-viral/#respondTue, 24 Apr 2018 20:06:05 +0000https://viralnews3.pw/?p=2049

Marjory Stoneman Douglas High students returned from spring break this week to a find a new safety precaution in place: mandatory clear backpacks.

To many students, the move — implemented after a shooter killed 17 people on their campus in February — fails to address the real root cause of gun violence: a lack of gun control.

“They’re just an illusion of security,” senior Kyra Parrow said, blasting the backpacks.

“My new backpack is almost as transparent as the NRA’s agenda,” student Lauren Hogg mocked on Twitter. “I feel sooo safe now.”

(Of course, policies like this are nothing new to students in primarily black and brown schools.)

There’s one aspect about the clear backpacks, however, that might do some actual good, according to some students.

The see-through backpacks may shine a light on the fact that, yes, many students need to bring menstrual hygiene products like tampons or sanitary pads to school. And no one should feel ashamed for doing so.

“I remember the humiliation I felt if I started my period unexpectedly and had to whisper to classmates asking for a pad,” Ayana Lage recently wrote for Bustle. “I eventually started going to the nurse’s office instead of telling people I was menstruating.”

The stigma is real. But hopefully not for much longer at Stoneman Douglas.

“The only positive about these backpacks is that maybe, hopefully, the stigma around periods will be removed,” wrote student Delaney Tarr. “Also, that Cameron now knows how expensive tampons are.”

The “Cameron” that Tarr is referring to is her classmate Cameron Kasky.

On April 3, Kasky shared a photo of himself carrying a clear backpack stocked with tampons. The gesture was Kasky’s way of standing in solidarity with those who may feel embarrassed that now would be revealing when they needed to use the products to their classmates.

His smiling photo — captioned simply with #MSDStrong — quickly went viral. As of publication, Kasky’s pic garnered over 60,000 likes and nearly 10,000 retweets.

“Every damn time I think I can’t love these young people more than I do, they do something to leave me even more in awe,” Twitter user Kathleen Smith wrote.

“Yass Cameron,” one classmate replied to Kasky’s photo. “If only I had the confidence to do that.” Kasky responded, “Here for you if you need anything… tampons and beyond.”

And as it turned out, Kasky did learn about how expensive tampons are, just as Tarr had hoped.

I mean, seriously — for those of us who don’t use menstrual hygiene products, they really can get pricey. It doesn’t help that they’re often taxed as though they’re a luxury item — and not a basic necessity — too.

According to California assemblywoman Cristina Garcia, folks in her state who get periods spend, on average, $84 a year on tampons and pads. For those working hard just to make ends meet, that’s a costly burden.

In a follow-up tweet, Kasky explained purchasing tampons was certainly an eye-opening experience. “This stuff is expensive,” he wrote. “Steps must be taken to make these health products easier to access.”

Things may seem scary nowadays — for a million different reasons.

But if the articulate, determined, big-hearted teens in Parkland, Florida are any indication, the future looks surprisingly bright.

“It started with gun control,” Lage wrote for Bustle. “But students have made powerful statements about media representation and now period stigma. It’s clear that these kids are smarter and more sensitive to current events than some adults.”

Teenager Fat-Shamed In A Bakery Comes Up With A Genius Revenge On The Spothttps://viralnews3.pw/teenager-fat-shamed-in-a-bakery-comes-up-with-a-genius-revenge-on-the-spot/https://viralnews3.pw/teenager-fat-shamed-in-a-bakery-comes-up-with-a-genius-revenge-on-the-spot/#respondTue, 24 Apr 2018 17:11:07 +0000https://viralnews3.pw/?p=2046We all know that we shouldn’t let the haters get to us, but that’s easier said than done. Luckily, people like Vega Blossom provide us with everyday examples of how to stand up for oneself. While the 19 year-old was waiting in line at her favorite bakery in Valparaiso, Indiana, she overheard a woman behind her say, “Let’s hope this fat bitch doesn’t buy all the cupcakes.” As a response, Blossom developed a savage revenge plan against the rude customer and executed it flawlessly.

“When I heard the nasty things the women said, I honestly wanted to cry,” Vega told Daily Mail. “It really hurt my feelings.”

“How could these grown women be so mean to someone they’ve never met, let alone talked to,” she wondered. “But I swallowed the hurt and thought of the best possible thing I could do back to them that wasn’t horrible, but that would teach them a lesson about respecting others.”

The comeback did cost Blossom $54, but over 74,000 people who liked it on Facebook believe it was totally worth it. Scroll down to check out the story and share your thoughts in the comments.

Leaving the bakery was probably the most rewarding part: “I looked the pair straight in the eye and asked ‘could you please open the door for me? My hands are a bit full’”

Much like her brother Robert, Bindi has been in the spotlight from an early age, appearing on her father’s show The Crocodile Hunter as young as six months old. During the filming of a commercial, Steve Irwin placed toddler Bindi on a crocodile’s back and said: “You’re watching Animal Planet with the Crocodile Hunter, and family!”

Since that unique on-screen debut she has tried her hand at all kinds of things, from acting and singing, to hosting TV shows and even winning an emotional season of Dancing With The Stars. The world has watched her grow up from her father’s adorable sidekick, through the aftermath of his tragic passing, to the confident and eloquent young lady she is today.

Bindi’s true passion is wildlife and, just like her father, she has that special gift of sharing her enthuasiasm, inspiration and message of conservation to the world. She still lives and works at Australia Zoo, which was founded and has been run by the Irwin family since 1970. I have spent my entire life living in a zoo, which is pretty crazy. Not many kids get to say that,” she told E! News.“It took me until I was about three years old to realize that we didn’t just come to the zoo every day, that we actually lived here.”

Together with her mom and brother, Bindi is making sure her father’s legacy remains, and Steve, a hero to many of us of a certain age, is never forgotten. “We want to make sure that his message of wildlife and conservation continues,” she said. “Because he was the world’s greatest conservationist and we never want that message to die.”

Facebook points finger at Google and Twitter for data collectionhttps://viralnews3.pw/facebook-points-finger-at-google-and-twitter-for-data-collection/https://viralnews3.pw/facebook-points-finger-at-google-and-twitter-for-data-collection/#respondTue, 24 Apr 2018 10:54:51 +0000https://viralnews3.pw/?p=2040

“Other companies suck in your data too,” Facebook explained in many, many words today with a blog post detailing how it gathers information about you from around the web.

Facebook product management director David Baser wrote, “Twitter, Pinterest and LinkedIn all have similar Like and Share buttons to help people share things on their services. Google has a popular analytics service. And Amazon, Google and Twitter all offer login features. These companies — and many others — also offer advertising services. In fact, most websites and apps send the same information to multiple companies each time you visit them.” Describing how Facebook receives cookies, IP address, and browser info about users from other sites, he noted, “when you see a YouTube video on a site that’s not YouTube, it tells your browser to request the video from YouTube. YouTube then sends it to you.”

It seems Facebook is tired of being singled-out. The tacked on “them too!” statements at the end of its descriptions of opaque data collection practices might have been trying to normalize the behavior, but comes off feeling a bit petty.

The blog post also fails to answer one of the biggest lines of questioning from CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s testimonies before Congress last week. Zuckerberg was asked by Representative Ben Lujan about whether Facebook constructs “shadow profiles” of ad targeting data about non-users.

Today’s blog post merely notes that “When you visit a site or app that uses our services, we receive information even if you’re logged out or don’t have a Facebook account. This is because other apps and sites don’t know who is using Facebook. Many companies offer these types of services and, like Facebook, they also get information from the apps and sites that use them.”

Facebook has a lot more questions to answer about this practice, since most of its privacy and data controls are only accessible to users who’ve signed up.

The data privacy double-standard

That said, other tech companies have gotten off light. Whether it’s because Apple and Google aren’t CEO’d by their founders any more, or we’ve grown to see iOS and Android as such underlying platforms that they aren’t responsible for what third-party developers do, scrutiny has focused on Zuckerberg and Facebook.

The Cambridge Analytica scandal emerged from Facebook being unable to enforce its policies that prohibit developers from sharing or selling data they pull from Facebook users. Yet it’s unclear whether Apple and Google do a better job at this policing. And while Facebook let users give their friends’ names and interests to Dr. Aleksandr Kogan, who sold it to Cambridge Analytica, iOS and Android apps routinely ask you to give them your friends’ phone numbers, and we don’t see mass backlash about that.

At least not yet.

A site of countless crimes, passive-aggressive communication and disputes, it is unrivaled as a source of workplace drama, intrigue and conspiracy.

It’s no surprise then that while politicians and media around the world are furiously pointing fingers over the Skripal poisoning, without presenting a shred of actual evidence to support their claims, regular folk are gripped instead by a much more relatable affair. Who stole the shrimp fried rice?

Twitter user Zak Toscani narrated the tale in a series of hilarious tweets, beginning with the bombshell revelation that the victim of the crime had been given access to the security camera, and the lunch thief would be positively identified beyond doubt. Evidence. A smoking gun.

In a series of shocking updates, the mystery slowly unfolds and we discover that the culprit did not in fact even eat the stolen lunch. It was taken out of the fridge and thrown directly into the bin, buried beneath the trash as to remain out of sight. What can this mean? An act of revenge from a scorned lover? A militant vegan, protesting for shrimp rights? And what is an appropriate punishment for this seemingly psychopathic behavior?

So many questions, so much drama. “It’s been awesome,” Toscani told the BBC about the affair. “I think so many people have responded to it because everyone who works in shared office spaces have maybe encountered something similar.”

Scroll down below to see how it all unfolded and let us know what you think in the comments. Has your office fridge ever been the center of a similar mystery? Feel free to share your story!

Avicii tributes pour in following Swedish DJ’s deathhttps://viralnews3.pw/avicii-tributes-pour-in-following-swedish-djs-death/https://viralnews3.pw/avicii-tributes-pour-in-following-swedish-djs-death/#respondTue, 24 Apr 2018 00:09:30 +0000https://viralnews3.pw/?p=2034

(CNN)Grammy nominated Swedish DJ Avicii died Friday, his publicist confirmed to CNN.

“It is with profound sorrow that we announce the loss of Tim Bergling, also known as Avicii,” a statement to CNN read. “He was found dead in Muscat, Oman this Friday afternoon local time, April 20th. The family is devastated and we ask everyone to please respect their need for privacy in this difficult time. No further statements will be given.”
Avicii was one of the most successful touring DJs in the industry, working with artists including Madonna. He had a crossover pop hit in 2013 with “Wake Me Up.”
But he also saw the downside of fame in the electronic dance music genre known as EDM.
“It’s very easy to become too attached to partying,” he told Rolling Stone last year. “You become lonely and get anxieties. It becomes toxic.”
He retired from performing in 2016 after a string of health issues, including acute pancreatitis.
Avicii told Time in 2013 that the illness was caused by excessive drinking.
“Yeah I was drinking way too much, partying in general way too much,” he said. “Then I got a pancreatitis attack [at 21], which is very rare. So that forced me to do a 180 and stop drinking.”
The DJ explained in a 2017 posting on his site that he had no intention of giving up music completely, writing “We all reach a point in our lives and careers where we understand what matters the most to us.”
“For me it’s creating music,” he wrote. “That is what I live for, what I feel I was born to do.”
Avicii also wrote that he was heading back into the studio to make more art.
“The next stage will be all about my love of making music to you guys. It is the beginning of something new,” his posting said. “Hope you´ll enjoy it as much as I do.”
The social media tributes from fellow musicians and artists poured in as soon as the news broke on Friday afternoon. Some tweets have been shared thousands of times.
Producer Hardwell shared a photo of himself with Avicii and wrote a tribute in which he thanked him for “changing the world with your amazing music.”
“Devastating news about Avicii, a beautiful soul, passionate and extremely talented with so much more to do,” fellow superstar DJ Calvin Harris tweeted. “My heart goes out to his family. God bless you Tim.”

    Emma Gonzalez remembers her classmates in a gut-wrenching, powerful speech.https://viralnews3.pw/emma-gonzalez-remembers-her-classmates-in-a-gut-wrenching-powerful-speech-2/https://viralnews3.pw/emma-gonzalez-remembers-her-classmates-in-a-gut-wrenching-powerful-speech-2/#respondMon, 23 Apr 2018 21:00:46 +0000https://viralnews3.pw/?p=2031

We knew Emma Gonzalez was amazing. But at the March for Our Lives rally, the teenager rewrote the script on powerful activism.

At the start of her powerful, gut-wrenching speech on March 24, 2018, in Washington, D.C., Gonzalez stood in front of the massive crowd, tears streaming down her face, absolutely silent for 6 minutes and 20 seconds. The reason?

That’s how long it took a 19-year-old gunman to go on a killing spree at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, killing 17 students and staff.

“In a little over six minutes, 17 of our friends were taken from us, 15 were injured, and everyone, absolutely every one in the Douglas community was forever altered,” Gonzalez explained.

She went on to discuss the pain of going through such a traumatic experience.

“For us, long, tearful, chaotic hours in the scorching afternoon sun were spent not knowing,” Gonzalez said. “No one understood the extent of what had happened. No one could believe that there were bodies in that building waiting to be identified for over a day. No one knew that the people who had gone missing had stopped breathing long before any of us had even known that a code red had been called. No one could comprehend the devastating aftermath or how far this would reach or where this would go.”

And then, just in case those listening hadn’t gotten her point yet, Gonzalez stated, “For those who still can’t comprehend, because they refuse to, I’ll tell you where it went: right into the ground, six feet deep.”

Gonzalez continued her speech by talking about the everyday things her fallen classmates would never be able to do, such as calling their friends, playing basketball, or walking to school with a sibling.

She wrapped up with a devastating description of the shooter’s actions and a call to action for the audience.

“Fight for your lives before it’s someone else’s job,” she asserted.

Let’s fight alongside her and others to make change happen, too.
